I've always loved having little projects, but there's been something especially therapeutic about painting recently. 👩🏼‍🎨 Spending so much time at home made me really hate my corridor last year. I hated how fussy it was, plus all the frames didn't make it very pram friendly. My little photo wall was full of all my memories from my single years: my friends, travels, achievements - I loved being reminded of all those positive things I had in my life everytime I left and arrived at my flat. Anyway, obviously Tommy's now moved in, and the baby is arriving any moment, so it felt like the right time to switch up the corridor and start a new chapter. Although I still have my @connorbrothersofficial print up - always better to be lonely alone than lonely with the wrong person. 😉 So I didn't want to get rid of the wallpaper because I hadn't had it up long and it wasn't cheap, so that was the starting point. Here's the details: Wallpaper: @houseofhackney Paint: @lick in Green 01 and Green 05 MDF Panelling: sourced via @hogwoodhouse Footstool: @roseandgrey (I'd actually have picked a different colour, but I already had this one. It's been a godsend for being able to sit to take my shoes on and off whilst pregnant). There's loads of extra bits I'd like to do, like the lighting and get a rug to fit the whole corridor, but we wanted to keep costs down. The @lick paint brand is genuinely amazing. You need less layers than normal paints, plus you get that matte finish but it's wipeable (perfect for grubby fingers). I used the same paint on the woodwork as the walls as I didn't want to use eggshell, just with a good primer on the wood. They also help to remove plastic from the ocean so there's a nice sustainable element to it too. Anyway, please don't tell me if you don't like it as I'm tired and hormonal and it's pretty permanent. I get it won't be to everyone's taste (like most of my colourful home), but I love it.🤣💚👩🏼‍🎨🎨 #ashleysinteriors #nestandthrive #nesting」1月3日 5時32分 - ashleylouisejames
