I bet this time last year, none of us could have predicted what 2020 had in store for us. There's been moments of such sadness and collective grief, but there's also been wonderful moments of this year that have made me feel pride, togetherness, and a new appreciation and gratitude for life that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. ✨Clapping for the NHS on a Thursday evening. ✨Sir Thomas Moore. ✨Seeing people come together all over the world to fight racial injustice. ✨Having the time to learn how to cook. ✨Family zoom calls - and just priorities in general shifting. ✨Becoming an accredited empowerment coach. ✨A new found love of nature around me. Watching and admiring the blossom and leaves change on my daily walks to the park. ✨The heatwave over summer. ✨To wonderful friends (and Tommy) for picking me up during some real low moments. ✨This online community. ✨And last but definitely not least: getting to grow my son... I've grown so much (both mentally and physically) from the moment I became his mum, which is crazy given that I've not met him yet. I've learnt to stay calm and positive, even when it feels like there's chaos around us. I've got a new found love and appreciation for my body. Watching it grow and adapt to house and protect this baby has been magical. I hope I can give it the same love and respect post birth. 2020 has been a year to remember, and I know we're not going into 2021 in the usual circumstances, but I feel like hope is on the horizon. I don't agree with resolutions, as I feel it sets us up for failure (I prefer to set weekly goals), but I hope this year brings us all happiness. I can't wait to enter the new year as a mummy, and I'm excited for the day we get to reunite with and hug our loved ones, feel the sun on our skin, and dance at festivals.
