Even and especially when they don’t believe they can do it, I can usually see a way that maybe they could potentially do what they believe is impossible. The ability to hold space for someone else to grow and succeed requires having gone through the process of growing and succeeding yourself. You have to walk the path yourself before you’re qualified to show someone else the way. For all the people out there teaching yoga or thinking about becoming a yoga teacher, my biggest advice to you is to keep practicing. No training, workshop, immersion or course can take replace the slow steady burn of getting on your mat year after year. I’ve been getting on my mat for over 20 years, and all of those have been under the guidance of qualified teachers who have helped light the path for me.
