They were fun to wear on land at first, but now that they've unfortunately become a stereotype for "female influencers", it's time to switch it up and go underwater! 🤣 . Fun fact: I used to only wear all black athletic wear (even though I love fashion) to avoid attention. Then I realized photos do better with pretty dresses and started incorporating them. I got hate for wearing dresses while traveling, so I purposely wore them in places like Antarctica and Kilimanjaro to go against the norm and be different. I also made it a point to try to buy them from locals in all the places I travel to (I donate the ones I've worn to locals as well). Then the influencer mega-boom happened and everyone was wearing flowy dresses in travel photos, and it made me not want to wear them anymore 🤣 . But I still love my dresses, and I wear them in real life, not just for photos, so I'll just gladly accept the challenge of finding new unique ways to photograph them! . I did this under water shoot after diving in the Cenote, and it was more difficult than the dive! Swimming in a long dress is actually pretty dangerous (do not try this at home) and there were a couple times when I felt like it was dragging me down! But I'm not going to lie, I felt like a mermaid! . Wow, can you believe I just made a whole post about the reality behind flowy dresses?! 🤣 What are your thoughts about them? . Mine are: wear whatever the F makes you happy but don't feel pressured to just bc everyone else is! Being different is a blessing!!!! .
