"One of the earliest things I can remember is sitting in a high chair as a toddler and taking spoonfuls of seolleongtang from a metal bowl at Nak Won House, or Nakwonjip, as Koreans call it. My parents would order their seolleongtang and ask an ajumma to give me a little bit of extra broth with tender white rice, and it was all the nourishment I needed. Nakwonjip is now closed after 34 years of business; September 30 was its last evening of service. Many, like myself, never got to say goodbye to Koreatown’s longest running 24 hour restaurant."
