For my son, Kon. In a past life, he was a herbivore. What remained in the mammoth plate of spaghetti he ate in his room, made its way to a room with no bed, only a table. Goodness gracious wholly mother of perceptual insanity... we were last by this window on Day 16!! I rarely go in this simple sweet room. Its walls marked like shrapnel from a gun battle where no one could have survived. It’s the smallest and quaintest of rooms upstairs with an itty bitty closet. Someone crucified a mirror to its door. In its bittiness, two rocks from Armenia sit on the one window, enjoying the view of the entire garden of trees, and more grass then I ever wanted to maintain. I’m eternally grateful to my neighbor who said pre-COVID days...”I’m crazy about cutting grass. I’ll mow your yard for free!” Frida’s impossibly red ball that’s impenetrable to chew lives in the grass. Tomorrow the new wall guys return to fill these holes...they didn’t come today, a misunderstanding that unlike myself, most reasonable people take Memorial Day off.
