There are index cards on the sill. I won’t tell you what’s written. Six months living here doesn’t lend enough time to everything hidden. It’s what we have the most of now, time. And it feels endless. Sitting in the garden this afternoon with Frida who today turned one month older than this home has been our home, I spoke with a friend how unpleasant these days have become. Pendulum swings where one day there’s light, another heaviness. She too is feeling this from her home in Mexico, the same swing we’re all riding that feels broken. This evening was silent. Maybe finishing my taxes released the noise. In this silence, I went to the attic. @elfriede.the.great.dane wandered up the uneven steps and waited behind one of two chimneys in this home of oldness. All its beautiful incongruent lines in an unfinished loft by a secret window, outside the trees are near perpendicular with the earth and sky.
