Why the long bill? The Long-billed Corella (Cacatua tenuirostris) uses its impressive beak to dig up snacks like roots, seeds, and grubs. A noisy bird, this cockatoo often scours the ground for food in large groups in its native southeastern Australia. Beyond its beak, it’s distinguished by its short crest and vibrant red-orange markings that pop against a grayish-blue eye ring.
