It’s time for Fossil Friday! Meet Prestosuchus chiniquensis, or Presto’s crocodile. It lived in the area that’s now Brazil during the Late Triassic about 210 million years ago. Although it was a large animal with big claws and a huge head with sharp-toothed jaws, it was not a dinosaur. Instead, it’s closely related to crocodylomorphs, a group that includes living crocs and their extinct relatives.

My grandma and aunt lives close to the site where It was found. Never visited the place myself tho but the region's richness of fossils helped me turn into an aspiring paleoartist.
