While the brown spider monkey (Ateles hybridus) doesn’t have eight legs, it does have exceptionally long limbs. Elongated arms and legs help this arboreal critter move about in the tree canopy. Its hook-like hands are perfect for swinging from branch to branch, and its long tail—which grows up to 75 centimeters (2.5 feet) long—has a hairless tip that provides additional grip support! You can spot this primate high in the treetops in Venezuelan and Colombian rainforests.
