Say hello to the longhorn cowfish (Lactoria cornuta)! Wondering what its “horns” are for? Some scientists think that the longhorns’ headgear discourages predators from trying to gulp them down. And if its horns aren’t enough of a deterrent, this fish is also poisonous! This bright yellow fish is native to warm Indo-Pacific waters and lives around reefs. When searching for food, like small crustaceans or worms, it blows jets of water into the sand in hopes of uncovering a meal!
