Tomato or frog? The Madagascar tomato frog’s (Dyscophus antongilii) bright coloring may look appetizing to some, but it’s actually aposematic—it serves as a warning signal to predators: don’t touch! If bothered, this amphibian can secrete a mildly toxic goo. Females tend to have a more intense coloring, and males have more of a brown hue.
