Those of you who followed my White House Instagram takeover last year may remember little Dayton, who was clearly not one of the ‘happy faces’ in the crowd that day. :) Happily, he was in a better mood today!

Started this trip on a high note, meeting overseas Singaporeans at a reception yesterday. Some flew or drove all the way from Boston and North Carolina to be here! America is their home for now, but the warm reception (and food!) showed that Singapore is still home in their hearts.
Also visited Union Market and the historic Peirce Mill over the weekend. They both aptly sum up the city – as the country’s capital, Washington DC has a strong history, but it enjoys a vibrancy of its own.
