the landscape of a kitchen, of my kitchen

cultivated in this last year. I have learned the shape and curves of this little city cottage. Like the landscape of the Farm, a place I know deeper down than any other and one I could navigate on the darkest moonless night, so to has the landscape and architecture of this place been seeping into my heart .

our little love story - this cottage and mine has been slow to start. But as we have pulled and picked at the threads and cracks & the light has begun to shine through - being able to finally see beneath all the noise and layers of the last century that had been piled in on it haphazardly - the house's true self is slowly emerging & I couldn't be more delighted to be stewarding it at the moment .

paring it back, paring down removing the unnecessary (of which there is lots) stripping away until the simple unadorned beauty of this house remains. But still it wants to shine and I've been carefully selecting everything from flooring to doors (yes those were all missing) to the hinges and lighting. When I saw these pendants from @wayfair i immediately knew they would be perfect in the kitchen - a balance of character and eras and materials - these pendant lights, which hang above the old walnut library table acting as our island - are timeless in a modern way and add the right amount of restrained adornment to keep the kitchen design feeling light but layered
