When the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ staff photographer @damonwinter was tasked with photographing the opening days of the #USOpen this year, he found himself “looking to the margins of both the action and the light,” he writes. In others words, we sent a photographer to the U.S. Open with the assignment to photograph tennis — and everything that happens on the edges of the courts. As the light faded on Wednesday, @damonwinter took this photo of @usopen attendees watching the closing moments of the day session.
