On the @usopen practice courts, fans can get an unusually close view of the players. On Wednesday, people crowded in to watch @ラファエル・ナダル work on his serve. Our photographer @damonwinter spent 3 days this week photographing the #USOpen, but he wasn’t there to shoot the matches. Instead, he focused on the periphery, shooting scenes along on the sidelines, often away from the courts. “I am always attracted to the edges because they define shape and give context,” he writes. “And I always seek a spark of photographic magic on the edges of light and shadow.”
