Remember when you were a kid and you would go swimming at the beach?
My mom used to tell us, "if you get caught in a rip current, don't fight it. Let it take you out and then when there's no more resistance, swim back to shore. If you resist, you will tire out and are likely to drown."🌊

When I feel pain in my growth, I get impatient and want to find a way to feel happy and like "myself" again. All that resisting of the uncomfortable emotion and state cause me to also resist the lessons that come with it.
When I let go and accept where I am and what I'm feeling, I'm able to see through the pain and recognize the growth.
This usually happens with I'm brave enough to be by myself and alone with my own thoughts in silence.
