At its original release, the campy 1975 movie musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” found few converts. It flopped, despite its spirited rock ’n’ roll score and memorable performances from @スーザン・サランドン, Barry Bostwick, Meat Loaf and Tim Curry. Yet the film became a cult hit at midnight showings, embraced by fans who added their own callback dialogue and found comfort in its message about embracing the unfamiliar. 41 years later, @foxtv is remaking #RockyHorror. @lavernecox, a prominent transgender actor and activist, will star as the movie’s central character, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a cross-dressing pansexual alien scientist. @rockyhorrorfox will test whether a decades-old musical about science-fiction B-movies and all kinds of sexual awakenings is still relevant, and whether a “Rocky Horror” movie made with some polish and preparation is still Rocky Horror.
