Enroute to Bear Fence Mountain in Shenandoah National Park we happened upon this genial black bear grazing on fresh plants. He appeared to be an older fellow, with a little silver on his back. He has seen a few tourists rubber necking and was unperturbed by our presence.

Spending time in parks - from the big wild to the well tended central variety offers humans a chance to relax & rejuvenate. Where ever one is the United States there is a park near you.
This wonderful bear was only two hours outside of Washington DC.
