Danuru Sherpa, Ama Daki Sherpa & Chirring John Sherpa, Phortse ~ Nepal.
Danuru was part of the 1999 Mallory and Irvine Expedition. At the time he was 20 and I was 36. Thinking I needed to train at the North Side base camp I went "running". Danuru loped alongside me at the same pace and smiled at my futile efforts. He was much stronger with out any effort.

Over the years Danuru has reached the summit of Everest 16 times, has become a lead instructor @khumbuclimbingcenter and worked as a climbing ranger @yosemitenps.
Ama Daki is Danuru's loving mother. He is the youngest of six sons. Being that Phortse is home to more working high altitude climbers is makes sense that the sum total Everest ascents of her sons is 60.
Her youngest grandson is Chirring John (CJ Sherpa). Palhamu and Danuru are most excited to welcome this youngster to the world. May his future be bright!
