We have also hosted several (perhaps dozens at this point) Instagram contests at our two facilities, the San Diego Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The most successful was our #TigerTrail contest, which prompted guests to enjoy our new Tiger Trail exhibit, which opened last summer at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and share their photos and videos on Instagram with the #TigerTrail hashtag for a chance to win a behind the scenes VIP tour of the exhibit. A combination of online, social media, and on-grounds promotion (including a map call-out and signs near the exhibit) made the contest a smashing success. ________________________________________Q: What motivated your choice to join Iconosquare? A: We joined Iconosquare because it’s one of the best Instagram tracking tools out there. The interface is intuitive, and the analytics are powerful. I wasn’t even paid to say that. ________________________________________Q: On your last 100 media posted, you have 34 videos (which is the highest ratio we’ve seen for the moment). What is the main goal of your videos? A: Seeing majestic animals in motion is a great way to share their beauty and grace, but also videos seem to be more-shared than photos. Videos receive significantly more comments than photos, but the majority of the comments are users tagging their friends so that their friends can enjoy the video as well.
