#11 Somewhere Over The Rainbow
I think the only thing that could improve the sight of a zillion penguins (yes, those are penguins down there, as far as the eye can see) against the backdrop of beautiful mountains is a rainbow. Lo and behold, a rainbow came out to make an incredible scene even more amazing. I quickly climbed up to a small hill to try and capture the entire scene. It was pretty overwhelming to see this with my own eyes, it was almost too beautiful and surreal to photograph. Almost! Just after I took this photo, crazy strong winds (katabatic) started coming down from the glacier (outside of this frame on the right) and we had to run back to the zodiacs to get back to our ship or risk being stuck on land for quite some time without protection. It was a fitting end to a surreal scene.
