Why did you choose to join Instagram? Answer: Shwood has always been driven by the visual. When we first saw the platform, it was such an obvious fit for us. It allowed us to view and to share compelling imagery better than any other social platform. ________________________________________Q: What are some rules you must respect in order to achieve such a successful Instagram account? 1. Well, a great (if not obvious) place to start is “have high-quality images”. This is crucial and worth the investment. 2. Have a very clear point of view and be consistent. If you’re being honest about who you are, then this should be easy to do. 3. Post regularly. Some brands may post more or less, but we’ve had success with 1-2 posts a day. 4. Be involved in the account. We manage our account in-house so it’s very easy to keep it on-brand and respond to comments accurately and quickly. I imagine accomplishing this same level of realness through an agency would be more difficult. 5. Pay attention to what works. When are your followers active? What kind of images to they like? What kind do they tag their friends in? Our methods may not be the most scientific, but we closely watch these things to at least anecdotally know what works best for us.
