These are cryptic, coded messages that Google sent to #xkcd cartoonist Randall Munroe after he answered this reader question: If all digital data were stored on punch cards, how big would Google’s data warehouse be? Munroe, a former NASA roboticist, runs a web comic known for its elaborate, geeky answers to absurd “What If?” questions. He actually figured out how many punch cards Google would need, posted the answer, and in response, Google sent these elaborate coded messages that sent Munroe on a treasure hunt.
