This is a Sherpa climbing down the Khumbu Icefall on Mount Everest. The photo is part of the Sherpas Fund, an effort to raise money for the Himalayan community after a devastating landslide killed 16 Sherpas last week — one of the deadliest accidents in Everest’s history. “As a photographer who has worked with the Sherpa community, I am devastated,” says fund organizer and TED speaker Aaron Huey. "Two of the deceased were men I knew.” TED speaker James Balog (@earthvisiontrust) and TED Fellow Teru Kuwayama (@terukuwayama) have also contributed photos to the fund.
