Supta Konasana is a deceptive posture from the second half of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. Start off by lying down, then lift the legs over the top of the head like Plow Posture or Halasana. Hold the big toes, spread the legs wide apart and stay for five breaths. This portion of the posture should feel like Shoulderstand, where the back is as straight as possible and the hips are lifted to stack the torso as cleanly in one line as possible. Then inhale as you roll up and land softly on your calves. Do not land on your heels or else it will hurt. Instead use your core strength to control the movement and resist going down even as you go down.
