How often does the #SothebysLondon Old Masters team think about the Roman Empire? We thought we’d ask.
They’re standing in front of a work by Giovanni Paolo Panini, who is celebrated for his vistas of Rome. Painted in the late 1730s, it depicts some of the most famous monuments in the Eternal City and was one of Panini’s most popular compositions.
The painting will be offered in the Old Master and 19th Century Paintings Evening Auction, and the Masters Week exhibitions are open to the public in our New Bond Street galleries until 6 December. Discover more at the link in bio.
