Come and dive with me in one of the top 10 dive sites in the Maldives. 🤿🐠🦈🦈🐡

I think this chapter is what you call... Rediscovering yourself after motherhood. 🫶

If you’ve been here since my single days, you’ll know that what makes my heart tick is travel, adventure, and diving. I first started diving when I went to university in a little french island called La Réunion when I was 20. And then I rediscovered my love for it when I went solo travelling round Mexico in 2018. When I’d travel and DJ with @charlottedecarle she got the diving bug too and we went everywhere we could as often as we could. 

Then lockdown happened and motherhood happened. It felt like the life I loved suddenly vanished, and I was forced to be at home doing the same sort of thing day in day out. I’ve always struggled being at home. I’m envious of people who thrive at home.

Anyway, now I’m not pregnant and Ada can go long stretches without breastfeeding, I got to go diving. And I can’t tell you what an amazing feeling that was, to realise that the things that disappear in those early days do and can come back in some shape or form. 

I still love and crave my own company and so to get those hours on my own, doing what the old Ashley loved to do. It was amazing. 

And on top of that to get to dive in Madivaru was breathtaking. I saw sharks, so many Eagle Rays, Stone fish, 4 or 5 turtles - fish of all sizes and colours. It reminded me why I fell in love with diving. I felt like Ariel in the Little Mermaid. 

Diving is honestly how I imagine it feels to be on the moon. If you ever get a chance to do it, I say do it! 💓🙏

It’s a nice reminder to me and anyone else who needs it, that whilst life changes irrevocably, eventually you do get to do so many of the things you love again. For me its diving but for you it might be something else.🙏💓
