8 months of life with Ada Blue 💙

Time really is flying this time around. I don't know if it's because we aren't in lockdown, or that things are just busier with 2, but I really feel like time has sped up.

It's hard to believe life without her now, and I am so grateful she's in our lives. She made all our world's better.

Here's what I've learned about Ada this month:
✨Her first word came this month and it's Mama, and now she says it all the time. Whenever she wants me, she just says it on repeat. (Alf's first word was Dada despite my best efforts.)
✨She's very active and enthusiastic for life: she always wants to be on the go. She whizzes round in her walker, or wants us to hold her up so she can walk. She's getting strong on her legs.
✨She can hold herself up against things now.
✨ She loves her food. Won't eat purées, but will eat any grown up food including veg! The Solid Starts app has been really helpful for feeding her solids.
✨ She's a very determined girl - she does not like to be helped. If she is trying to pick up food and you help her, she gets mad. She wants to do it herself and she'll put it down and try again.
✨After 2 months of not being a 'good sleeper's (very normal for baby sleep I should add) she had a few nights of sleeping in her cot all night. That changed when she got her cold, but it gives me hope the sleep deprivation might go softer on me. She's in a cot next to my bed, and I bring her in to cosleep the moment she wakes up.
✨Our Breastfeeding journey is still going strong.
✨ she's an old soul. There's something about her that makes you know this is not her first time on earth.

✨ Whilst Alf is my greatest teacher, Ada is my greatest healer.
✨ Doing motherhood a second time around makes me realise that you always feel like a new mum. Maybe some things feel less of a big deal - for example leaving the house with a newborn is a walk in the park second time around, but it feels like the juggle never gets easier. Whilst 2 feels a lot more - it's MORE in the best way.
✨Getting to watch the sibling bond grow is joyful.
✨ My life balance is off right now, I miss my friends, but I know that comes back.
