Within the park, you can find the Shiretoko Goko Lakes with two walking paths built around the five lakes leading you to the farther reaches of the park. Elevated Wooden Pathway: This boardwalk provides views of the Okhotsk Sea, the snowcapped Shiretoko mountains, and one of the five lakes. The boardwalk is a 1.6 km round trip and is free to enter from when the park opens in spring to when the park closes in fall. It has a smooth and level surface allowing wheelchair access. ♿️🏔️ Ground Pathway: This pathway allows visitors to get closer to nature in Shiretoko, with two different options: the long route and the short route. You can see four lakes on the large route and one lake on the short route. The long route is 3 km and the short route is 1.6 km. In order to protect the wildlife and visitors, there are entry requirements depending on the season. From when the park opens to May 9 and August 1 to when the park closes, visitors must take a lecture on vegetation protection and bear safety.
