Among the buildings forming the temple complex today, Amidado Hall is the oldest extant Buddhist structure within the Daisenji Temple complex, dating back to 1552, and it is especially beautiful to pay a visit in the fall, when the stone staircase leading to the hall contrasts nicely with the vibrant surrounding autumn hues. 🏯🍁 Amidado Hall is currently used to enshrine and worship Amida Buddha, with a 266 cm tall wooden image of Amida Buddha on display carved by twelfth-century sculptor Ryoen flanked by images of the Seishi bodhisattva of strength, wisdom, and power and the Kannon bodhisattva of mercy.
