The Hikiiwa in Wakayama are a group of these strangely shaped rocky mountain cuestas lined up on a hill. Made of sandstone and less than 100 m high, these mountains appear like a group of toads gazing skyward, earning their enchanting name, Hikiiwa. 🐸🌄 As you set off from the Furusato Nature Park Center and follow the nature observation trail to the first lookout point, prepare to be amazed by a 360-degree panorama, revealing a myriad of unique Hikiiwa peeking above the tree cover. The walking course is about 4 km round trip with up to 127 m of elevation and 70 m of elevation gain.
