It’s already been two years now since my last trip to Rocklands and I admit I deeply miss this magical place 🥺 Petrichor was the last problem I opened during that trip and it was one of my all time favorite rigs from the ten years I spent climbing in the Cederburgs 💫 A combination of power and technique is required to ascend this brilliant twisting prow, and the beta didn’t exactly manifest itself immediately. I had the pleasure of test driving this rig with my homie @ignaciomulero and we eventually came up with a solid idea of how to climb it. It became a race against the impending heat wave that arrived early that August, so it was a very exciting yet slightly stressful process of trying to make an ascent before it was just plain too hot to grab the small crimps in the beginning of the climb 😅 It came down to the wire, a last try best try scenario, which is always thrilling, so I tried to make an edit to the footage I had to share the process and the moment of truth behind the first ascent. I also dig on this mix I made to capture my minds energy during the whole process, revolving around a brilliant @defekt__ tune called “A Pure vision” 🔥🙌🏻 I was super syked to hear @vadim_timonov made the second ascent this summer, and mentioned it was in his top 5 for Rocklands 🦾💎 I can’t wait to go back next summer and enjoy some more creative adventures; I truly miss developing hard boulders, it’s such an addicting process, something I hope to be doing in Switzerland as soon as the season arrives ⚒️ Hope you all enjoy this edit and the climbing, be patient at the ending, sometimes you just gotta wait for it 🕺 @adidasterrex @fiveten_official @petzl_official @climb_up_officiel @sendclimbing @frictionlabs @tensionclimbing
