Stairway to Heaven [8B] 💎 WOW!! What a brilliant problem!!! Massive props to @giuliano_cameroni for opening this stunning highball 🙌🏻 It actually climbs just even better than it looks!! Complicated compression moves and super technical footwork over a rather tricky and sloping landing creates a pretty terrifying vibe, and then you have the death zone on the final arete, making this one full package rig 🔥 Physically demanding and psychologically super committing, there’s only one way to the top and it’s executing this entire sequence without fear affecting how you move! I never had prime conditions when I tried, which may have added to the challenge, but it was surprisingly difficult to find good friction despite its exposure to the wind. The try before I sent I fell off the ending trying to improvise a new method and tweaked my ankle quite badly, but motivation was so high, despite the pain and added fear of hurting it more severely in another fall, I decided to give it a proper Hail Mary attempt before the swelling set in 🤪 Things went according to plan and my beta work out perfectly, even though it was definitely not my best climbing 😅 Regardless of that, it was sickkkkk, and felt so rad to squeeze out that feature and properly go for it again after my big break from climbing this summer.
