We have had a beautiful snowfall in England which turned the darkness to light as a white blanket covered all and children took to nature running, laughing, giggling and having snowball fights. How uplifting it is to hear happiness in the air, to feel cleansed and truly appreciate nature. I’d like to use this as a metaphor for how snow resembles our life at times - how for moments we are frozen within a bubble of change before and after normality; learning to adapt we start to appreciate our norm until the thaw when it is gone once more. Some things in life, and people also, are simply a short spell or season in our journey, never destined to be with us forever, but there to teach us a lesson along the way. Whilst snowfall starts off being exciting, the novelty soon wears off and it’s apparent that it’s impractical for safe travel and comfortable temperatures; we feel just as happy when it is finally gone as we did when we enthusiastically saw the first snowflake fall. I hope that you can take away from this a feeling of contentment, of nature and the universe providing you with precise experiences and moments necessary to serve their purpose before they must go. Cherish everything whilst it is still there and remember it fondly after it’s gone; nothing on earth can make it stay forever.
