Rate my pre-lockdown abs out of 10 please? 💗 Sadly UK gyms are closed again in lockdown which is so harmful to health and wellbeing. My mother told me about the symptoms somebody had after recovering from Covid, they constantly felt tired - but so do most people when they don’t leave the house or get sunlight. They get short of breath especially when they think about their breathing - you’re more likely to be breathless when you stop being active and most people worry or even have panic attacks when they think about the rate of their breathing and instantly start breathing faster and more shallow which leads to a sensation of breathlessness - I bet you’re doing it now because you’re reading this! She also complained of aches and pains - have you ever laid in bed all day doing nothing and felt weak despite not being ill? Get up and get moving, you have to use it or lose it! She said she struggled to sleep - if you’ve done nothing all day your body hasn’t been worked and unwound so you’re going to be restless and stressed. She found her mind was foggy and she had headaches - overthinking, stressing and worrying about things outside of your control can do terrible things to your mental health - a brisk walk, hobby or reading a book will help to quiet the mind and lower stress levels. And her mood in general was down and miserable - she’d not seen friends or family in a long time, gained weight and lost her freedom. Stress does terrible things to our health but the worst thing that we can do is nothing. Many of these “symptoms” can be cured simply with mindset. Get up! Shake it up and take control of YOUR life. Do NOT allow helplessness to overcome you, it’s ok not to be ok, it’s ok to cry, need help and feel lost BUT I want you to know that you CAN make it better! Small steps everyday can make a huge difference - just start by getting out of bed. The more active you are the less breathless you will be. Eat healthy and cook your meals from scratch with fresh vegetables for immune support and energy. Set yourself goals for the day to give purpose to the mundane when trapped inside.
