I went to town on vegan truffles, dairy free ice cream, mulled wine, cocktails and savoury snacks and I don’t regret one bite or sip! It’s nice to have a little of what you fancy when you work so hard throughout the year; so long as you pay back the calories and balance the scales of ‘in vs out’ it’s all good. About 4-5yrs ago I had my stomach tattooed by the very talented Mr King of @inklectic_tattoos for a TV show focusing on body confidence and people living with imperfections. After having my two children my stomach, hips and thighs were scarred with stretch marks which is a perfectly normal part of pregnancy and weight gain and also affects children during growth spurts. Having pale skin I personally felt the indentations and colour difference was very obvious (my stretch marks were initially dark red and then turned bright white) so I turned my tiger stripes into something uplifting with my hamsa hand and lotus flower tattoo to take control of my body as a mother. This personal body art is a symbol of strength, survival, good health and protection and makes me smile everytime that I see it 🙏🏼 I realise bodyart may not be for everybody but I want you to know that we are all free to do as we wish with our bodies and should ultimately please ourselves instead of trying to meet the ideals of others.
