"This whole wedding was like a dream: go to Iceland and journey around with just the couple for an elopement with portraits anywhere I wanted? Oh, and on the second day, go climb a glacier with them? SIGN ME UP. This incredible woman hiked up a massive glacier with her wedding dress pinned up, and she is my hero! I wanted to showcase the couple in the extraordinary scenery but I had a few issues: I wanted to shoot wide open at f/1.2, use off camera light, AND capture the sky behind them. My assistant (just off camera right) held a speed light to illuminate the couple, while high speed sync enabled me to shoot at 1/1000 to cut out the ambient light and darken the scene.
