The choice of light, background, image toning & rawness evokes emotion and gives an authentic approach - the way in which a portrait photographer would capture character. I often find that portraiture and fashion cross over. Fashion is an overall theme and portraiture is a type of photography. When I photograph fashion portraits as part of an editorial (or talent for a cover of a magazine) I am looking for a sense of personality & character, the same way a portrait photographer would approach a shoot.
