It makes sense that at one point we had to be competitive - because historically there weren’t enough jobs for women, especially at the top. And while we still undergo systemic and cultural hurdles for the advancement of our profession and ourselves, the concept of female competitiveness just doesn’t work. There’s a ‘stereotype’ that women don’t support other women. I’ve experienced it and I’m guilty of being part of the problem in the past. Research shows that women [in particular] benefit from collaboration over competition; furthermore women who support women are more successful, too. The truth is that raising each other up and the power of collaboration is truly how we will change the equation; not just in business, but in our daily lives, too. So how can we be more supportive to one another? 👉BEFORE you decide to publicly complain or shame a fellow woman on the interwebs, first attempt to open dialogue with that person first. Allowing yourself (and them) the opportunity to have mature communication will undoubtedly promote growth. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. 👉𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 - 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲. Keep in mind that one person is not going to be the perfect fit for everyone.
