There was no intent nor conscious decision for creating triptychs in India last year. It happened. In need to detach, the insignificant moments, these nothing specials become substance for understanding the story. Why this evening is mosquito bed nets is the unimportance. No more than existing, these little poems appear. Inside a building at a brick factory near Dhubri, Assam, I could hardly keep attention while talking to the manager. Distracted by a sweet twirled pink net over a bed, for whatever reason, was inside his office. Weeks earlier in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, tucked away, was a sleepy area inside a Tibetan dhaba. Over the bed was a beautiful fading green one, draped before a Mahabodhi temple mural where Buddha achieved enlightenment. And many days after, I walked into a security post by the gate at a hotel we stayed in Nagrakata, West Bengal. How amazingly colorful could a small room with only three objects be, so gently was everything placed.
