Every year, approximately 500 stalls are lined up along the shrine approach for 7 days from September 12th - 18th. It is said that the total number of visitors during this period comes to one million people! Thisi is the festival named Hakozaki Shrine Hojoya which is one of three major festivals in Hakata. The festival origin is ancient, it is said that it started more than 1000 years ago, and it is a festival that people who plan to visit Fukuoka in September should go to at least once.
