As you know, all of my tattoos are incredibly meaningful to me as symbols of hope, strength and survival and this one is going to be absolutely jaw dropping and empowering! I had a dream last night after seeing the news of the lockdown restrictions being placed on the UK which must have been in my subconscious as I dreamt that I was walking through a field of graves on a hillside in complete silence and sunshine. All that I could see was row upon row of graves but it felt so peaceful and lovely, not sad or scary at all. A voice spoke to me and told me that everything would be ok, that it is kinder to suffer momentarily in order to take away the pain of living with it forever if nothing had changed; being cruel to be kind. When I woke up it made sense in the world we now find ourselves in. Before Covid, and since the beginning of time, people have suffered daily simply because they fear change - staying in jobs they dislike, unhealthy relationships or living where they don’t belong - missing out on true happiness. It’s easier to stay and take the pain than it is to break free and start a fresh. Sometimes the only way we will change is not through choice but necessity, something like a worldwide pandemic to push the reset button and help us to start over, properly and for ourselves. I went through hell and back at the start of this year when the pandemic hit, but now I’m a million miles above and beyond where I was and I’ve never been happier, stronger, healthier, more confident and free. My stress, worries and struggles are all gone, negativity is in the past and the people around me are beyond incredible, I feel blessed. It was a big step to make such a change, but the most beautiful journey of growth and understanding that I’m thankful to have experienced. Every aspect of my life has changed for the better.
