The Vogelkop Superb Bird-of-Paradise, another species that I filmed for the Netflix documentary “Dancing With The Birds”, which I’m excited to share has been nominated for three Emmy awards, including “Outstanding Nature Documentary”! This species, along with the Black Sicklebill in my last post, are birds-of-paradise that are “shape-shifters”. Using special plumes, they transform their shape into something very un-birdlike, with super-black plumage to offset flashes of color.
