A displaying male Black Sicklebill, one of the species I filmed for the Netflix documentary “Dancing With The Birds”, which I’m excited to share has just been nominated for three Emmy awards, including “Outstanding Nature Documentary”! The Black Sicklebill is part of the Bird-of-Paradise family, and one of a number of remarkable birds whose performances we documented for this film. Those long floppy feathers on his shoulders are not his wings, but just used for transforming him into the incredible shape you see in shot 1 from the front, and shot 3 from behind.
