When the waters of the mind still, you can see reality clearly. Emotions and thoughts are like ripples on the surface of the mind. Even just a moment of stillness is enough to see through a few layers of ego. But sometimes, the mind is crystal clear like a reflecting pool and in its vast limitless nature you can see the whole universe looking back at you.

I walked down to the lake today and the wind just stopped. The sound of silence reverberated through the air. Off in the distance the only audible sound was the cowbells. And then, just like that, the wind was back, and instead of the mirror image of the clouds and sky, small waves crested on the shores once more.
_
The whole teaching of yoga is there for you so that in those rare moments that the mind does find it’s stillpoint, you have the skills required to gaze deeply within yourself and see all eternity gazing back at you.
