If your goal is to have 3D shaped shoulders, it is critical that you know how to work all 3 heads-Side, Rear, and Front.⁣

SIDE DELTS: side delts are targeted in just about every shoulder movement, but primarily worked by lateral raises. In my opinion, the side delts are the most important muscle of the shoulder to have developed, as it helps add width to your entire frame. The wider your shoulders are, the smaller your waist will appear, giving your entire physique a more drastic look. ⁣

REAR DELTS: Rear delts are primarily targeted by reverse fly movements (DB, Cable, Pec Deck, etc.). From my experience, the rear delts are the hardest head of the shoulder to develop and learn how to connect with. However, once you learn how to activate them, they can help your entire frame from the side and back angles become much more drastic and full.⁣

FRONT DELT: this is primarily worked 2 main movements-military presses and front raises. Incline chest presses will work them as well. Having the front delt developed will make your look from the front angle significantly fuller and more drastic. It can even help bring out shape in the body parts around it, such as the chest and biceps if well developed.⁣

Here I am performing heavy alternating DB front raises for my front delts. I enjoy throwing these in the mix as they allow me to isolate my front delt and really help me build a great connnection with it. ⁣
