Deadlifts are one of my favorite movements to include on Back Day, as it works the entire posterior chain of the body. ⁣⁣

Here are 2 Deadlift form tips to ensure you’re getting the most out if your reps: ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
1. KEEP THE BAR AS CLOSE TO YOUR SHINS AS POSSIBLE: this will force you to push your hips back and use your hamstrings, glutes, and quads the primary muscles targeted. Also, it will force your body to remain upright, which decreases the probability that your back will round, which could lead to potential injury. ⁣⁣⁣

2. CHEST UP, SHOULDER BLADES DOWN AND BACK: this will force you to engage your lats, a very important postural muscle, that will help prevent your core from collapsing and spine from rounding. ⁣⁣⁣

If you’re just learning the form, don’t feel as if you need to bounce the weight off of the floor in order to keep using a challenging weight. Master the form, know what you should be feeling, and then get stronger overtime, not vice versa. ⁣⁣⁣
