Ashley Jamesさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Ashley JamesInstagram)「I absolutely loved being on the @jeremyvineon5 show earlier this week. 💙 I really enjoy getting to go on both the Jeremy Vine Show and GMB even though I usually have to stay off Twitter for the entire day due to the amount of trolling I receive for having a different opinion to people. 🤸🏼‍♀️🙃 Every single person is entitled to an opinion regardless of their profession or education, and I always try to understand both sides of an argument, and educate myself on the topics before forming black and white opinions, and yet I am always discredited for my opinions based on my career (or perceived lack of), usually by men. Theres definitely a subconscious (or maybe conscious) misogyny in society that we use to disempower women that I am even trying to deprogram in my own brain. We are brought up to believe we have to choose between beauty and brains, and sometimes I have to pull myself up on judging other women on the way they look. I find it amazing that the MP Tracy Brabin seemed to get more attention for what she was wearing than what she was saying. I love getting to wear pretty dresses and talk about politics and hope it inspires other young women to have the confidence to hold opinions and know that we can do both. Let's stop shrinking ourselves and letting other people shrink us.
