If you can remove your self-doubt and believe in yourself, you can achieve what you never thought possible." ✨ I absolutely adore this first image from my recent campaign with @spectrumcollections (it was shot by @sarahbrownphoto, my makeup done by @katiejanehughes and hair by @patrickwilson, so an absolute dream team). But aside from being proud of the campaign, and thinking I look nice, I love it even more because of all the rejection and words of others I overcame to reach this point, not to mention my own self-doubt. 👊 I wouldn't say I always dreamed of being a model, I wanted to be a presenter (and a War Correspondent until I realise I can't get through a set of adverts without welling up), but I definitely always wanted to be one. When I was about 15 I made my mum take photos of me in the garden and sent them to every agency in Newcastle and probably London too and I didn't hear back from any (I'd love to find those photos now). But mum paid for me to get some proper shots done as a birthday gift (image 5) and I'm sure my Gran still has this framed at home. Love my choice of turquoise bra! I thought I'd hit the jackpot at University when I got signed to a local model agent and booked a job straight away. I had lovely long, blonde hair and had just broken up with my boyfriend of 6 years, and I turned up to the job and they shaved off my hair, dyed it Brown and then covered my face in the image (image 4). HAHA. I can laugh now, but honestly, it was the worst, I never went back for another job. 😂 When I quit my job at 25 and did MIC, I signed to an amazing model agency and was so happy. An agent I had at the time used to tell me he'd be embarrassed to put me out for work or to events as he'd worked for Kate Moss and I was just a reality TV star and didn't have a good look. I still persisted and booked some amazing jobs (image 2&3). And now, to be in my 30's, an age I feel like we're always made to fear as women, and to still get booked on these dream jobs, shows not only that AGE DOESN'T MATTER, but also you shouldn't listen to rejection and doubt. ✨❤️」1月21日 4時03分
